“Sauga 2030″ – DoUC’s foray into science fiction city narratives mediated through smart phone based applications – premieres next week at the Art Gallery of Mississauga as a part of the Meet Us On The Commons show, curated by Elizabeth Underhill.
The main product being exhibited is an audio driving tour smart phone application – directing users around Mississauga in their car, where they are confronted with small audio vignettes focusing on issues that will take place in the year 2030.
As a sneak peak, here’s one component to the multi-component in-gallery part of Sauga 2030 – a video timeline of the history of Mississauga up until the year 2030.
We hope to see you at the opening: July 21st 6pm – 9pm, Art Gallery of Mississauga.
The show runs from July 21st 2011 to September 11th 2011.

Great – didn’t know Mississauga yet – but – perhaps you might have put in Duisburg or Düsseldorf, my home town or – Kabul, where I recently worked as an architect / engineer / urban planner with a British- American NGO.
Anyway – my blog about the “Social City in times of Global Warming” is still mostly edited in German as it examines case studies here for actually showing off, how incapable “real Politics” and leadership these days are for coping with the real challenges we have to face these days.
Actually – my NGO is called “Any Architects and engineers” – will soon start publishing also more in English – hope to have a team together then for supporting me.
Tough times – but – think you know about that, buddies.
